Ladyjacks welcome 12 top-25 teams to USA Bowl in Dallas, marking the first time the tournament has not been held in Houston
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – For the fifth-straight year the SFA bowling team will host the annual Stormin' Ladyjack Classic, taking place this weekend, Friday-Sunday, Feb. 15-17, for the first time in Dallas at USA Bowl. The Ladyjacks welcome 11 bowling programs from across the United States to the Lone State for the three-day, 13-match tournament.
The nation's top five teams, according to the February National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 25 poll, will be present in Dallas as eight of the country's top 10 are competing in the tournament. All 12 Stormin' Ladyjack Classic participants appear in the national rankings with top-ranked McKendree, No. 2 Vanderbilt, third-ranked and defending tournament champion Nebraska, No. 4 Arkansas State and fifth-ranked Sam Houston State leading the event's field. SFA, who is currently ranked No. 7, will also be joined by ninth-ranked Tulane, No. 10 North Carolina A&T, 13th-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 16 Central Missouri, 21st-ranked Louisiana Tech and No. 24 Adelphi.

Play will get underway Friday morning with five, five-game Baker matches beginning at 9:35 a.m., followed by five traditional team matches set to start Saturday at 9:25 a.m. On Sunday, a sixth and final traditional team match will be bowled at 8:30 a.m., before two rounds of best 4-of-7 bracket play Baker matches take place. Sunday's bracket play will determine a Stormin' Ladyjack Classic Champion with seeding dependent on each team's pinfall total from Friday's Baker matches and the six traditional team matches.
SFA will see 10th-ranked North Carolina A&T to open up tournament play Friday, before facing No. 13 Wisconsin-Whitewater, 21st-ranked Louisiana Tech, No. 1 McKendree and fifth-ranked Sam Houston State in Baker matches. Saturday, the Ladyjacks will match up against 16th-ranked Central Missouri, No. 24 Adelphi, third-ranked Nebraska, No. 2 Vanderbilt and fourth-ranked Arkansas State in traditional team matches. For Sunday morning's final traditional team match, SFA will take on No. 9 Tulane.

Last Time on the Lanes
Last weekend, the Ladyjacks captured their second tournament title of the season at the Sunshine State Winter Classic in Orlando, which was co-hosted by SFA. Trailing 3-0 in the championship match, the Ladyjacks pulled off the most improbable of comebacks by out-bowling top-seeded and third-ranked Nebraska in four-straight games to clinch the match 4-3 and win the tournament crown. Posting an unblemished record (13-0) at a tournament for the first time in program history, SFA won its fifth championship. It marked the first time 2013 the Ladyjacks have won multiple tournament titles in the same season. Eleven of SFA's 13 victories at the event came against nationally-ranked foes, with SFA besting 20th-ranked and co-host Sacred Heart (4-2), No. 2 Vanderbilt (4-0) and third-ranked Nebraska (4-3) in Sunday's bracket play Baker matches. Senior Paige Beeney became the second Ladyjack to earn MVP honors at a tournament this season, finishing third among all bowlers and being named to the all-tournament team after averaging a game score of 212 in five traditional team matches.
