Ladyjacks Conclude SFA Duals with Three Singles Wins and Two Doubles Victories

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - In their final action of the fall, the SFA women's tennis team wrapped up its three-day SFA Duals schedule by securing a trio of singles wins and two doubles match triumphs Sunday at the Schlief Tennis Complex.
Lining up five of its players against Louisiana Tech in singles play, SFA saw three of those five get wins over their respective Lady Techster opponents. On line three, Darinka Tiboldi took down Alexia Romero 6-4, 6-0. Fellow senior Armelle Cerdan was a winner as well, defeating Rikona Murakami 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Elena Bleicher did not drop a single game to Madison Cefalu in the five-slot, securing a 6-0, 6-0 win. Gabi Guilarte and Annie Walker both lost in three sets.
Earlier in doubles action, SFA lined up against Texas State and watched Cerdan and Ai Noa Fabre notch a 7-5 triumph against the Bobcats' tandem of Sofia Murcia-Rodriguez and Alyssa Zayat.
The second doubles win of the day for SFA came when Tiboldi joined forces with Nida Kamal to grab a 7-5 victory against Andrea Fuchs and Renata Gonzalez.
With their fall schedule in the books, the Ladyjacks turn their attention to their championship season. SFA will continue to train until beginning the regular season part of their schedule on Friday, January 17, 2020, when it heads to Denton, Texas, to take on North Texas at 1:00 p.m.
