Ladyjacks Complete Second Straight Undefeated SLC Season

NACOGDOCHES – The SFA volleyball team completed their second straight undefeated conference season with a Senior Day sweep (25-17, 25-14, 25-23) of McNeese Saturday afternoon in Shelton Gym.
Inside the Box
- SFA increased their consecutive match winning streak to 21 straight games and have gone 16-0 over the last two seasons.
- All told, the Ladyjacks have won 35 straight SLC regular season matches dating back to Nov. 2, 2017.
- Corin Evans led SFA with 10 kills, while Danae Daron followed with nine kills

Match Summary
Set 1
- SFA took control of the opening set early with a 5-0 run to expand a 9-6 lead into a 14-6 lead.
- Trailing 22-13, the Cowgirls strung together four straight points before the Ladyjacks closed out the set with a 25-17 win.
Set 2
- Set two, was all SFA with the Ladyjacks vaulting out to a 15-4 lead before taking the set 25-14.
Set 3
- McNeese opened the set with a 12-8 lead before leading as much as 20-15 late in the set.
- SFA answered with 4-0 run to trim the lead down to 20-19 and eventually pulling even at 21.
- McNeese won the next two points to take a 23-21 lead, but SFA closed out the set and the match with a 4-0 run to complete the sweep.

SFA, the defending Southland Conference Tournament champions, will open the 2019 championship as the No. 1 seed. The Ladyjacks will open the tournament with No. 8 seed New Orleans at 11 a.m. at the Farris Center in Conway, Ark.
