‘Jacks Celebrate 2019 SLC Championship with Sweep of Lamar

NACOGDOCHES – We came. We won. We got a trophy. We went home.
The SFA volleyball team cruised to their 20th consecutive win Thursday night in Shelton Gym after sweeping Lamar (25-10, 25-13, 25-17). Following the 64 minute affair, the Ladyjacks celebrated their 2019 Southland Conference with a rowdy crowd inside Shelton Gym.
Inside the box score
- SFA outhit Lamar .424 to .094.
- The Ladyjacks held a nine to one advantage in blocks.
- Corin Evans paced SFA with nine kills and a .429 hitting percentage.
- Ariana Pagan followed with seven kills and a .375 hitting percentage.

Game Summary
Set 1
SFA broke open a 9-5 opening set with a 15-4 run to take a commanding 24-9 lead en route to a a 25-10 win.
Set 2
Set two was all SFA. The 'Jacks jumped on the Cardinals from the start with a 16-6 lead before coasting to the 25-13 win.
Set 3
The two teams traded the first 12 points before the 'Jacks took control with a 9-3 run to take a 15-9 lead. SFA completed the sweep with a 25-17 win before lifting the SLC trophy.

SFA will wrap up their regular season Saturday at 1 p.m. back in Shelton Gym with McNeese. Following Saturday's match, the 'Jacks will honor their 2019 senior class.
