
SFA Track and Field Closes Out Competition at Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin track and field wrapped up the 91st running of the Texas relays in style on Saturday, as the women's 4x200 relay team of Imani Nave, Aaliyah Teel, Camille Singleton and Tiffany Williams ran to a fourth place finish in the event with a time that was less than two-tenths of a second away from the SFA record of 1:37.53.
In the 4x800 relay, the SFA women's squad of LaSean Davis, Shania Ford, Allison Compass and Madison Compass would race to a time of 9:16.95, while the 4x400 squad of Nave, Dominique Jackson, Williams and Teel ran to a 3:48.07 in the 4x400 invitational. In the men's 4x400 invitational, the relay team of Drake Murphy, Charles Fentress, Payton Davis and Kerry Gleason beat out Texas Southern, the only other collegiate team in the event, to finish with a time of 3:11.57.
Closing out the distance events, Kelsey Ramirez ran the 1500m in the time of 4:39.83, while Quinlin McGregor posted a time of 4:18.55 in the men's mile run invitational.
In the long jump, Isaiah Pittman reached a distance of 7.20m (23-7.5). In the pole vault, Antonio Ruiz cleared a height of 5.50m (18-0.5) to tie his season best in the event before withdrawing.
Elsewhere in competition at the Texas State Bobcat Classic, Samantha Ottman placed sixth in the women's 5000m run with a time of 17:45.62.
SFA will resume competition and host the annual Carl Kight Invitational next weekend on April 5-7.
