Women’s Golf Wraps Up Play at Little Rock/A-State Invitational Eighth

Ladyjacks shoot a 32-over 320 in third round Tuesday, place eighth with final score of 74-over 938
MAUMELLE, Ark. – The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team had a challenging third round Tuesday at the Little Rock/Arkansas State Invitational at the Maumelle Country Club in Maumelle, Arkansas, shooting a 32-over 320 to finish eighth among the 10-team field. The Ladyjacks shot identical scores of 21-over 309 in the first two rounds of play Monday to complete the two-day, 54-hole tournament with a score of 74-over 938.
UTEP claimed the team title after going 14-over 878 in the three rounds, while Northern Illinois earned runner-up honors with a 27-over 891. Jacksonville State took home third place with a two-day total of 31-over 895.
Redshirt junior Erica Lautensack (Arlington, Texas) had a strong final round as she shot a 2-under 70 on the par-72, 6,136-yard course to move up nine spots on the individual leaderboard and tie for seventh place among 56 total competitors. Her 2-under 70 Tuesday was a tie for the round's lowest score as she finished with a three-round total of 4-over 220, earning her third top-10 finish of the season and fourth top 20.
Fellow redshirt junior, Jamee Jorgensen (Boerne, Texas), was SFA's next top finisher, tying for 41st with a two-day total of 23-over 239 after shooting a 13-over 85 in Tuesday's third round. Sophomores Alexandra Batista (Trophy Club, Texas) and Paola Cortes (Allen, Texas) and freshman Alexis Szewczyk (McKinney, Texas) all struggled to find their rhythm Tuesday as each shot over an 80 for the final round of play. Batista claimed a 14-over 86 to finish tied for 45th with a three-round tally of 25-over 241, while Cortes registered a 11-over 83 Tuesday to tie for 49th with a final score of 28-over 244. Szewczyk shot a 10-over 82 on the final 18 holes to place 52nd with a 54-hole total of 32-over 248.
Four different players tied for the Little Rock/A-State Invitational individual crown, all claiming a three-round score of 2-over 218.
