Women’s Golf Shoots Identical Rounds Monday at Little Rock/A-State Invitational, in Eighth Place

Ladyjacks shoot back-to-back rounds of 21-over 309 in the first 36 holes of play, own two-round total of 42-over 618
MAUMELLE, Ark. – After Monday's opening two rounds of play at the Little Rock/A-State Invitational in Maumelle, Arkansas, the Stephen F. Austin women's golf team is in eighth place among a 10-team field. The Ladyjacks shot identical rounds of 21-over 309 through the first 36 holes of play Monday on the par-72, 6,136-yard course at Maumelle Country Club, owning a two-round total of 42-over 618.
UTEP leads the two-day, 54-hole tournament with an 8-over 584 through the first two rounds, while Jacksonville State is second with a two-round tally of 20-over 596 and Houston Baptist just one stroke behind in third place.
Redshirt junior Erica Lautensack (Arlington, Texas) leads SFA and is tied for 16th on the individual leaderboard after shooting a 3-over 75 in both rounds Monday to own a 6-over 150. Fellow redshirt junior, Jamee Jorgensen (Boerne, Texas), registered an even-par 72 to open up the day but shot a 10-over 82 in round two to finish with a two-round total of 10-over 154 in 27th place.
Tied for 28th is sophomore Alexandra Batista (Trophy Club, Texas), who recorded first and second round scores of 8-over 80 and 3-over 75 for a cumulative day one total of 11-over 155. Sophomore Paola Cortes (Allen, Texas) improved her opening round score by seven strokes in Monday afternoon's second round, going from a 12-over 84 to a 5-over 77 between the first two rounds of play. She is tied for 44th on the leaderboard with a two-round score of 17-over 161.
Rounding out the Ladyjacks is freshman Alexis Szewczyk (McKinney, Texas), who shot a 10-over 82 and a 12-over 84 during Monday's two rounds to stand tied for 52nd with a total score of 22-over 166.
Houston Baptist's Kaity Cummings leads the tournament with a score of 4-under 140 as UTEP's Lily Downs is in second place with an even-par 144 and the Miner's Abbie Anghelescu third with a two-round tally of 1-over 145.
The Little Rock/A-State Invitational, co-hosted by Little Rock and Arkansas State, concludes Tuesday with the third and final round getting underway at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. SFA is paired with UT Arlington and Evansville for Tuesday's final 18 holes and will be teeing off from holes 10-14. Lautensack will get started from hole No. 10, while Jorgensen will start from hole No. 11, Batista at hole No. 12, Cortes at hole No. 13 and Szewczyk at hole No. 14.
