FRISCO, Texas – Four individual medalists and both SFA relay teams were named to the Southland Indoor Track and Field All-Conference Teams on Thursday, per a release from the conference office. Additionally, freshman Kelsey Ramirez was named the Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field Women's Freshman of the Year after her excellent performance in the mile run and as the anchor leg of SFA's second-place DMR team. Youth carried the Ladyjacks at the indoor championship, as individual medalists Ramirez (freshman), LaSean Davis (freshman), Kaylee Bizzell (sophomore) and Carson Dingler (freshman) are all underclassmen.
Also earning All-Conference Second Team honors were the 4x400 relay team of Imani Nave, Dominique Jackson, Tiffany Williams and Aaliyah Teel, and the DMR team of Davis, Shania Ford, Kadrienne Sanders and Ramirez.
SFA would complete the sweep of the pole vault for both the men and the women when Kaylee Bizzell won the event with a new personal best of 4.02m (13'-2.25") to earn First Team accolades for the first time in her career. Dingler then placed third in the event with a mark of 3.92m (12'-10.25") to earn Third Team honors for the first time in her career.
LaSean Davis had a stellar debut of her own as a freshman at the indoor championships. Earning Third Team honors with a third place finish in the 800m run at 2:13.01. Davis would also earn Second Team honors for her role in the women's DMR. Classmate Kelsey Ramirez was the star of the assembled freshmen, as she earned a Second Team accolade with a runner-up finish in the mile run by a PR of 4:57.17, and would run a stellar anchor leg to boost SFA to a second-place finish in the DMR. Those two performances would earn her the distinction of the Women's Freshman of the Year superlative, one of 12 doled out by the conference office on Thursday.
Also competing in the medley relay were Kadrienne Sanders and Shania Ford, both of whom teamed up with Davis and Ramirez to place second with a time of 12:01.49 and earn Second Team honors. Similarly, the women's 4x400 featured a tremendously competitive race, during which SFA was able to edge the team from rival Sam Houston State and finish second in the event, thanks to great performances from Imani Nave, Dominique Jackson, Tiffany Williams and Aaliyah Teel.

Southland Conference indoor track & field superlatives are nominated and voted upon by the league's head coaches. Voting for oneself or one's own athletes is not permitted.
