SFA Unveils Full Fan Fest Schedule for Non-Conference Finale against Alabama

Tailgating, music, food and fun all a part of SFA's Dec. 30 showdown with Crimson Tide
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - In anticipation of the SFA men's basketball team's non-conference finale against SEC adversary Alabama on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. inside William R. Johnson Coliseum, SFA athletics has announced a number of fan engagement initiatives that will take place prior to and during the tilt between the 'Jacks and Crimson Tide.
"We are excited to offer this great opportunity for fan engagement and entertainment," commented SFA director of athletics Ryan Ivey. "A game of this magnitude calls for a celebration and the goal of the Fan Fest is to provide an opportunity for Jack Nation to come together prior to tipoff."
Prior to the game, Sunday's feature event will be the Fan Fest that takes place from 2:00-4:30 p.m. on East College Street directly outside the main entrance of William R. Johnson Coliseum.
"Our goal is to allow our games to be an entertainment destination for East Texas and the Fan Fest is a great step toward that direction. We look forward to growing it for future games."
Below is a gameday timeline that details each of the events taking place that are centered around Sunday's premier non-conference showdown. In addition to the listing of events, a map has also been provided below to outline the locations of these events.
Noon | East College Street closes to traffic and opens for fans to tailgate
Noon-4:30 p.m. | Fans have the opportunity to tailgate in the designated tailgating area (see map below)
2:00-4:30 p.m. | Fan Fest takes place for all fans and includes:
• Free food samples courtesy of local restaurants
• R&K Distributors will be set up at Fan Fest
• Inflatables
• Tailgate games
• Miniature basketball court
• DJ courtesy of Complete Weddings + Events
5:00 p.m. | SFA tips off against Alabama on ESPNU
In-Game Giveaways
• Free SFA White Out t-shirts for the first 5,000 fans in attendance
• Free Thundersticks for the first 5,000 fans in attendance
• $10,000 half-court shot (halftime | presented by Mr. James I. Perkins and Citizens 1st Bank)
• TV giveaway (halftime | presented by Mr. James I. Perkins and Citizens 1st Bank)
