SFA wraps up season in the South Central Regional

Fayetteville,, Ark. – The Stephen F. Austin men’s and women’s cross country teams finished up their season at the Regional meet Friday afternoon. Out of the 20 teams that ran for team results, SFA finished eighth on the women’s side and twelfth on the men’s.
The women’s 6000 meter race began at 11:00 a.m. Redshirt junior Taylor Anderson led the Ladyjacks for the fourth time this year with a 34th place individual result with a time of 21:43.4. The next finisher for SFA was senior Mary Luster with a time of 21:53.7. Redshirt junior Rana Ryan followed in 56th with a time of 22.23.9, and junior Brittney Innis finished ten seconds later. Senior Samantha Ottman would round out the team score with a 22:45.7 minute time.
On the men’s side, senior Josh Torres had another terrific race finishing first for the Lumberjacks with a 21st place individual result. Redshirt freshman Brandt Preston was next across the line for SFA in 38th with a time of 31:47.3. Redshirt junior Quinlin McGregor finished with a 32:36 time, followed by redshirt sophomore Topper Markham at the 33:01.2 minute mark. Rounding out the Lumberjack five finishers was redshirt sophomore Larry Deramus with a time of 33:10.1.
With the end of the Cross Country season, Stephen F. Austin will look forward to Indoor Track and Field starting up in January.
