NACOGDOCHES, Texas – After establishing himself as one of the fastest freshmen in the country during the 2015 season, Stephen F. Austin’s My’Lik Kerley will have the opportunity to showcase his speed on the international stage in the Pan American Junior Championships. Kerley will represent the USA in the 400-meter run, with prelims beginning at 1:50 p.m. CT on Friday afternoon in Edmonton, Alberta.
Kerley qualified for the Pan Ams with a runner-up finish at the USA Junior Championships in Eugene, Oregon on June 27. The Taylor native posted a personal best time of 46.47 seconds to beat out some of the fastest collegiate runners under 20 in the nation.
Kerley helped the Lumberjacks sweep both the indoor and outdoor Southland Conference titles in 2015, scoring points in multiple events. He then capped a successful freshman campaign by advancing to the NCAA Division I Preliminary Rounds in the 400m and as a part of the 4x400m relay in May.
