NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The impending rainy weather forecasted to hit the Nacogdoches area this weekend has forced an alteration to the Stephen F. Austin tennis schedule.
SFA and McNeese State will now take to the court at the Schlief Tennis Complex at 11 a.m. Friday, a match which was originally scheduled for Saturday. The Ladyjacks' match against Nicholls has been moved from Sunday to Saturday at 11 a.m. hoping to avoid the heavy rains expected to fall across the area. Conditions will be monitored Saturday morning and if it is ruled to be unplayable, the match against Nicholls will be moved to an indoor facility in Ennis, Texas, being played later that afternoon.
With the alteration of the weekend series, SFA's Senior Day has been moved to Friday morning as the Ladyjacks will recognize seniors Malena Gordo and Julia Lorca, a pair of anchors for the team for the past four years. It is also a key home stand for SFA in the Southland Conference standings as the Cowgirls and Colonels both have just one loss in SLC play, sitting right on the heels of the undefeated Ladyjacks.
