- SFA is 2-9 all-time vs Dallas Baptist after a 5-3 loss earlier this season in Nacogdoches.
- SFA has won six of its last seven games and will be looking for revenge on Tuesday when it travels to Dallas Baptist for its second match-up with the Patriots this season. DBU wonthe first meeting 5-3 behind a pair of home runs from Michael Miller.
- DBU has won four of its last five as well after taking two of three at home this weekend vs Seattle. The Patriots are one of the top hitting teams in the nation, leading the country with 42 home runs and ranking second in the nation in slugging percentage.
- Hunter Dozier saw his 16-game hit streak come to and end on Sunday with an 0-for-3 outing in the series finale vs Oral Roberts; however,he has maintained another streak and enters Tuesday having reached base in 25 straight games. He has 20 walks to only 13 strikeouts in those 25 games, while hitting safely in 22 of them with a .457 batting average, .548 on-base percentage and .894 slugging percentage.
- Since taking over a late-inning role early in the year, reliever Brett Higginbotham has been nearly unhittable. In his last 13 appearances, the sidewinding senior righty has the following numbers: 3-1 record, 5 saves, 0.44 ERA, 20.2 IP, 9 hits allowed, .149 batting average, 1 run allowed, 22s strikeouts and just four walks.
