COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team was shutout by No. 55 Missouri, 7-0, Saturday afternoon in Columbia, Mo. The loss drops SFA to 2-6 on the season.
The Tigers swept all three doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead. Sophomore Malena Gordo battled Missouri's Cierra Gaytan-Leach to three sets before bowing out at No. 1 singles. Gordo fought hard but came up on the short end of a 7-5, 4-6, 10-8 decision. SFA was unable to pick up a win in the final five remaining singles matches.
The Ladyjacks return to action Friday, Mar. 1, when they travel to Arlington, Texas, to take on the Mavericks. The match against UTA is set to begin at 2 p.m.
