- These will be the second ever series between Stephen F. Austin and South Alabama. USA came to Nacogdoches last season with SFA taking the first two games of the series before the Jaguars salvaged the series finale.
- SFA shortstop Hunter Dozier needs just two doubles to become new all-time career leader at SFA.
- SFA returns each of its top four leaders in batting average from a year ago (Dozier, Lamantia, Villalobos and Moreda).
- Cameron Gann had the lowest ERA for an SFA starting pitcher (2.62 ERA) since SFA brought back baseball in 2006
- The 'Jacks have four preseason all-Southland Conference selections: Hunter Dozier, Freddy Villalobos, Max Lamantia and Cameron Gann.
- SFA led the Southland with 35 homers as a team last season. Of that total, 18 HR from last season return.
- Hunter Dozier is SFA's first ever preseason all-America (Collegiate Baseball, NCBWA).
- SFA is installing new lighting at Jaycees Field, allowing for night games to be played in Nacogdoches for the first time since 1995.
