NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball team will be looking to bounce back from a hard-fought 72-62 loss at Texas, with a 6:00 p.m. game against Marshall on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7:00 p.m inside the Cam Henderson Center.
SFA (2-1) will take on the Thundering Herd (2-1) in its third of a four-game stretch on the road. The Thursday night game marks the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Marshall is coming off of a 102-94 loss to Morehead State in overtime. The meeting was the 95th meeting between the two schools, as there were a combined 76 personal fouls and 108 free-throw attempts in the game. There were 44 fouls called against MU, the most for a team in the NCAA this season.
The Last Time Out
• Senior Deshaunt Walker recorded a career-high 24 points and the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball team led Texas 35-31 at the half, before falling 72-62 Friday, Nov. 15, inside the Frank C. Erwin Center. Tied 60-60, SFA was outscored 12-2 by the Longhorns (3-0) over the final three minutes to suffer its first loss of the season and first under head coach Brad Underwood.
• Walker's 24-points was a game-high and is the most scored for the `Jacks since Desmond Haymon dropped 23 against Northwestern State (Mar. 16) in the championship game of the Southland Conference Tournament championship game last season. Walker finished 9-of-16 from the field, hitting six-of-nine from beyond the arc. His six three-pointers is the first for SFA since Kevin Broussard did against Wiley College (Nov. 30, 2011).

• SFA closes its four-game road stretch, with its second game of the Roundball Classic. The `Jacks will face East Tennessee State Saturday, Nov. 23, at 3:00 p.m. in Johnson City, TN. The game inside the Freedom Hall Civic Center will be the first meetings between the opposing schools.
