NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin senior forward Laura Sadler was recognized by a pair of media outlets on Tuesday for her two-goal performance in the Ladyjacks Southland Conference title-clinching victory over Lamar last Sunday.
Sadler, a native of Coppell, Texas, was tabbed the SLC Offensive Player of the Week and was named to the CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll. Sadler helped lead the Ladyjacks to a perfect 2-0 weekend with a total of five points in victories over Sam Houston State (4-0) and Lamar (3-1).
Against the Lady Cardinals, Sadler scored the game's first two goals in the first half, her fifth and sixth of the season and the 25th and 26th of her career.
SFA senior Leslie Shurtleff was also an SLC Honorable Mention for Defensive Player of the Week while junior Lacey Lee was an Honorable Mention for Goalkeeper of the Week.
The Ladyjacks (14-3-0, 7-0-0), who clinched their seventh SLC title last week, have one conference game remaining this Friday at Nicholls State at 4 p.m. SFA will then have nearly a week off before opening the conference tournament as the No. 1 seed on Friday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
