GAME INFORMATION
This Week: The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks (5-2-1) ride a three-game win-streak into Friday night when they open up Southland Conference play in San Antonio at the UTSA Roadrunners (3-5-1), followed by a Sunday match in San Marcos against Texas State (5-4-0).
Last Time Out: Stephen F. Austin head coach Tony Amato earned the 100th victory of his career and eight different Ladyjacks scored in an 11-0 victory over the Jackson State Lady Tigers Friday evening at the SFA Soccer Complex. The 11 goals were a school-record in a single game and the most since scoring 10 against Prairie View on Sept. 28, 2008. Kylie Louw, Chelsea Raymond and Laura Sadler all scored two goals each and Raymond added two assists as well for a career-high six points in a single contest. The victory was also the 150th in school history, improving to 150-116-30.
UTSA Series History/Scouting Report: SFA leads the all-time series versus UTSA 3-2-3 since first playing them in 2006. Of course last season UTSA defeated SFA in the Southland Conference Tournament in penalty kicks, ending the Ladyjacks season. Prior to that match, SFA beat UTSA 2-0 in the regular season finale. The Roadrunners are led offensively by Maria Jose Rojas, who leads the team in goals (5), points (12) and shots (26).
Texas St. History/Scouting Report: SFA trails the all-time series against Texas State, 7-10-2, but has won four of the past six meetings, including a 1-0 victory over the Bobcats last season at home. The last three meetings between the two schools have been decided 1-0. Texas State is led by Kendell Webber and Serena Hines, both of which has four goals a piece. Goalkeeper Lauren Frazier has posted three shutouts and allowed 10 goals.
NEWS AND NOTES
AMATO EARNS NO. 100: Stephen F. Austin head coach Tony Amato earned the 100th victory of his career and eight different Ladyjacks scored in an 11-0 victory over the Jackson State Lady Tigers Friday evening at the SFA Soccer Complex. Amato, who went 82-37-11 in seven seasons at Rollins College, improved to 18- 7-3 in nearly his one and a half seasons at SFA.
LOUW ONE ASSIST AWAY: Junior midfielder Kylie Louw sits one assists away from tying the school career record of 22 currently held by Christie Mestayer. Louw has already recorded six assists this season.
NINE WINS: SFA finished the 2010 season with a 13-5-2 overall record. This marked the eighth consecutive season for the Ladyjacks to pick up at least nine victories and is the program's seventh straight winning season. The last time an SFA squad failed to reach the nine-win plateau was 2002, also the last time the Ladyjacks posted a losing season (7-9-4).
TITLE TOWN: The SFA women's soccer program has brought an unprecedented five Southland Conference regular-season championships back to Nacogdoches. That total is nearly half of the 13 possible regular-season titles in SLC Soccer history.
