NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin junior Kylie Louw was named Friday to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District VI team. Louw is the lone Ladyjack to make the team and one of three Southland Conference athletes to make the list.
Louw earned a nod on the second-team list in her first appearance on the all-district team. The Discovery, South Africa native is a kinesiology major with a 3.68 GPA. Last year Louw was named to the 2010 Soccer Academic All-Southland Conference first-team.
The junior was just recently named the Southland Conference Player of the Year for a second straight season, the first athlete to ever win the award in back-to-back years. Louw broke the SFA single-season assist record (13) and became the all-time career assist leader in school history (28).
The Ladyjacks are coming off a 1-0 win over Sam Houston State last Friday night that clinched their sixth ever Southland Conference regular season title. SFA is playing UTSA tonight in Natchitoches, La. in the semi-finals of the Southland Conference Tournament as the number one seed and will be looking for their 13th straight win.
