NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Ladyjack head coach Brandon Schneider has announced the addition of current Murray State College and former Tulsa Edison Prep High School forward Antionette Carter to the 2012-13 Ladyjacks on Wednesday.
According to the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report, Carter (6’0, from Tulsa, OK) is ranked the 34th best prospect in the nation and the 6th ranked power forward.
“We are extremely excited to add a player of Antionette’s character, work ethic, and versatility to our program,” Schneider said. “AC is a very tough cover with the ability to cause lots of mismatches for opposing defenses. She can take post players away from the basket using her athleticism and skill level, and she can take guards into the post using her strength and power. She has the potential to have a tremendous impact on the future of Ladyjack basketball.”
In her freshman season for the Aggies, Carter averaged 10 points per game, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals a contest. While playing at Thomas Edison High School, Carter was selected all-state and all-city and was named to the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Association. She also helped advance her team to the Elite 8 of the state playoffs.
Her career high school averages were 23 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks a game.
What Others Are Saying – Dan Olson, Collegiate Girls Basketball Report
“An explosively athletic face-up 4 player – insider with power-body; competes on glass; attacks in mid-post game; quick-leaper, mobile in up-tempo; mismatch producer.”
