SFA Tennis Heads to Regional Championships

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin women's tennis team heads to Ft. Worth Friday to compete in the USTA/ITA Regional Championships. Junior Alina Shazhko and freshmen teammates Tereza Bekerova, Elena Kordolaimi and Malena Gordo will represent SFA at the tournament.
The USTA/ITA Regional Championships feature some of the top men's and women's players competing in each of the ITA's regions across the country. SFA is in the Texas Region that is filled with every Division I program in the state, including eight national ranked teams.
The regional championships are being played at TCU beginning Friday and running through Monday with a draw of 128 in singles and 64 in doubles.
