FRISCO, Texas – After two more impressive road shutout victories this past weekend, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks received good news on Tuesday when the Southland Conference announced junior midfielder Kylie Louw was selected the Co-Offensive Player of the Week while senior defender Jordan King was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week.
Louw continues to prove herself as one of the top distributors in the nation by collecting three assists in a 5-0 victory over McNeese State last Friday.
All three assists allowed teammate Chelsea Raymond to score a hat trick en route to the Ladyjacks’ ninth consecutive victory. Louw’s season assist total of 11 has her tied for the conference lead and is the third best mark in the country. She is also second in the nation in assists per game at 0.85.
King was part of a back line that recorded two shutouts last weekend, blanking McNeese State, 5-0 and Lamar, 1-0. The McKinney, Texas (McKinney H.S.), native’s aggressive and physical play helped limit both schools to a combined five shots on goal as the Ladyjacks added to their school-record seventh consecutive shutout. The team has not allowed a goal in conference play and has not surrendered a goal since a 1-1 tie at Louisiana Tech on Sept. 9.
The Ladyjacks will look to further their win streak this weekend when they host Southeastern Louisiana on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a Sunday afternoon tilt at 1 p.m. against Nicholls State.
