NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to compete in the Crimson Classic meet Saturday morning. It will be the second-full distance meet for the teams this season.
There will be a total of 26 schools and eight squads that are ranked regionally running in the annual meet.
Not only will this meet be the first time since both teams competed in the SLC Pre-Conference meet, but it will be the last time the teams run until the Southland Conference Championships.
The Lumberjacks are led by senior Adam Saloom who had two top-ten finishes at Rice and at the SLC Pre-Conference meet last month, while the Ladyjacks look to follow junior Lauren Smith who had a second place finish at Rice and went on to win the women's side of the SLC Pre-Conference meet.
Races will begin on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with the men's 8,000-meter run on the Harry Pritchett Running Course near the University of Alabama campus. The women's 5-kilometer race will follow directly after the men beginning at 9:10 a.m.
