SFA Track and Field Teams Receive Regional Recognition

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field teams are currently ranked among the top six in the South Central Region according to the latest polls by U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The 'Jacks are currently ranked fifth, while the Ladyjacks are sixth.
Four of the five teams ranked ahead of SFA in the women's poll are also ranked among the nation's top 25, including the top-two teams (LSU and Texas A&M) in the country. It is a similar story on the men's side with three of the four teams ahead of SFA appearing in the top 25. SFA is the only conference school appearing in the regional rankings' top seven.
The Ladyjacks are coming off a 2010 indoor conference title, which marked the team's third consecutive conference crown. The SFA men finished second at the Southland Conference Indoor Championships.
