Series Notes & What To Watch For:
- SFA has dropped eight of the last 10 games it has played against McNeese State dating back to 1995. The Cowboys swept the ‘Jacks in 2006 in Lake Charles before the SLC scheduled dictated that the teams would miss out on each other in both 2007 and 2008. The ‘Jacks won an elimination game, 11-3, in the 2007 Southland Conference Tournament before dropping two of three games to the Cowboys last season at Cowboy Diamond.
- This will be the first time the Cowboys have visited Nacogdoches since 1994, making them the final Southland Conference team to play at Jaycees Field since SFA reinstated baseball.
- Tanner Hines got a hit in each game of SFA’s series against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to extend his hit streak to 23 games. That is the longest active streak in the Southland Conference with Texas State’s Jason Martinson having raced up to equal that 23-game mark as well.
- The ‘Jacks and Cowboys have two of most explosive offenses in the league, as is evident by the fact that they each enter this weekend’s series as two of just three teams in the Southland Conference with four players on the roster with at least 30 RBI.
