Series Notes
- This will mark the first time that SFA has traveled to Thibodaux since the 2008 season when the `Jacks swept the Colonels with a win on Friday, and two on Sunday after rain postponed the finish of Saturday's game. Last season in Nacogdoches, SFA stayed hot against Nicholls in earning its first league wins of the season - both in run-rule fashion - before the Colonels got five innings from Tyler Minto and four relief innings from Ross Larson to escape with a win in the series finale.
- The weekend will feature two of the top teams in the Southland on the basepaths as Nicholls leads the league with 39 swipes and the `Jacks are not far behind with 32 of their own, despite having had four games cancelled due to weather.
- If SFA can manage to take at least two games this weekend in Thibodaux, it would mark the fastest since baseball has been back that the team will have won its second league series of the year. SFA didn't win its second league series until its fifth series last season, in 2008 it was the fourth series, in 2007 it was the fifth and in 2006 it was not until the 10th and final SLC series of the season.
- Tanner Hines carries a nine-game hit streak into Friday's game at Nicholls and could join Bo Coffman as the second `Jack with at least a 10-game hit streak in 2010. Hines' career high was a 19-game hit streak to close out the 2009 regular season, which was enough to set a new school record.
