What To Watch For
- The `Jacks are still searching for their first win over the Aggies. In SFA recorded history they are 0-17 vs Texas A&M with each contest being held in College Station. Since 2006 the `Jacks are 0-5 against the Aggies, including a narrow 2-1 loss last season when A&M was ranked No. 4 in the nation.
- It was an exceptionally good weekend for the Lumberjack pitching staff as each starter picked up the win for the `Jacks and managed to go at least 6.0 innings into the game. It was just the third time since 2006 that SFA starters have picked up wins in three straight games and is the first time that three starters have done it when going at least 6.0 innings into the game. It has never happened in four straight games.
- Only twice in the last four years have the `Jacks gone at least three games in a row without a single error, but they have somehow managed to start off 2010 on a good note with the leather. SFA went the entire series against Grambling without committing a single miscue and will take that string into Wednesday's game at Texas A&M.
- Senior shortstop Tanner Hines had a very nice start to his 2010 season with a 4-for-5 afternoon on opening day, his first career four-hit game. He ended the weekend with six hits in 12 at-bats and stole a base as well. He finished second in the SLC with 17 steals last season and entered 2010 in a tie for eighth all-time at SFA in that category after just one year as a Lumberjack. He now needs 19 stolen bases this season to tie former teammate Zach Gardner's career mark of 37 that Gardner set last season.
