FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field team closed out the Tyson Invitational Saturday with their second school record in as many days. The `Jacks' 4X400-meter relay team recorded a time of 3:11.49 to set a new school standard and place fourth overall. The school-record team consisted of senior Chris Moody, junior Donavon Sammons, senior Travis Beavers and freshman Joseph Barb.
Senior Frednisha Marshall just missed an individual title, but set and NCAA qualifying standard in the weight throw with her toss of 65-2.75. Her throw was good enough to place third overall.
SFA had two distance runners record top-10 finishes Saturday. Sophomore Stephanie Ganter placed sixth overall in the women's 3,000 meters with a time of 10:02.81, while senior Keith Mahipala recorded a seventh-place finish in the men's 3,000 meters (8:28.71).
