
Ladyjacks Swept By Texas State

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Kelsey Owens finished with 11 kills, but the Ladyjacks hit only .065 and dropped their third consecutive match on Saturday at Johnson Coliseum as Texas State picked up a 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-18).
The Bobcats (15-11, 8-4) completed the season sweep of SFA (11-16, 4-8) after taking a 3-1 win over the Ladyjacks in the first meeting in San Marcos.
Owens was the only Ladyjack with more than five kills as SFA hit at just a .065 clip, compared to Texas State's .290 mark. MC Bottles and Arielle Daron had five kills apiece and Allison Gideon had one kill and 24 assists.
Melissa Miksch led the Ladyjacks with eight digs from the libero spot, while Owens had seven and Monica Pannone six. As a team SFA finished with 9.5 blocks, with Bottles leading the way with five.
No Bobcat had more than four attack errors on the afternoon, while Mo Middleton led all hitters with a dozen kills on 17 swings with no misfires.
The Bobcats did not hit less than .250 in any of the three sets.
SFA has two road matches next week at UTSA and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi before coming home one week later to close out the regular season against McNeese State and Lamar.
