SFA Women Climb to Fifth at SHSU Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team traveled to Huntsville, Texas to compete in the Sam Houston Funston Women's Golf Classic Monday and Tuesday. The Ladyjacks climbed the leader board one spot in the third round carding a 329-320-331--980 landing them in fifth place overall.
Freshman Marissa Bransburg placed 20th after shooting a 76-88-80--244. Three stokes back of Bransburg in 21st place was senior Noelle Willicoxon who carded an 82 in the final round. Sophomore Allison Flake was only two strokes back of Willcoxon shooting an 86-79-84--249.
Freshman Aliece Anderson tied for 24th after she shot an 86 in the third round, while freshman Sara Jones shot an 85 putting her in a tie for 33rd overall.
The Ladyjacks return to action when they travel to Lake Charles, La., on November 1, to compete in the Cowgirl Fall Invitational.
