
Ladyjacks Sixth at Southern Mississippi

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack golf team fired an opening-round 327 to place sixth after the opening round of the Lady Eagle Invitational Monday afternoon. SFA is currently led by freshman Sara Jones who is tied for 20th overall after carding a seven-over par 79 on the par-72, 6,143-yard Hattiesburg Country Club course.
Senior Noelle Willcoxon is only one stroke back of Jones with an opening-day 80. Willcoxon is tied for 22nd overall. Sophomore Chelsea Simmons shot an 83 Monday and heads into the second round of play tied for 32nd overall. Freshman Aliece Anderson carded a 42 on the back nine to finish the day tied for 35th with an 85. Classmate Rose Marie Henderson closed out the Ladyjack scoring with an 89, and is currently tied for 39th overall.
The Ladyjacks resume action at the Lady Eagle Classic with the second round Tuesday morning. SFA will tee off at 8:38 a.m., and will be paired up against players from Belmont.
