
Egboba-Waye Earns Athlete of the Week Honors

FRISCO, Texas - Junior Silent-Joy Egboba-Waye has been named Southland Conference Athlete of the Week announced league officials Wednesday afternoon. It marks the second time this season that Egboba-Waye has received the award.
Egboba-Waye helped guide the Ladyjacks to a team title at the Dogwood Invitational Saturday in Nacogdoches. The Lancaster, Texas, native recorded three individual titles during the two-day meet, including an NCAA regional mark in the women's 100-meter hurdles. Egboba-Waye clocked a time of 13.88 to win the event. She followed that up with a jump of 19-0.50 to win the women's long jump. Egboba-Waye closed out the meet by running a leg of the women's 4X100-meter relay, which clocked a time of 46.94 for the victory.
SFA returns to action Friday when they travel to Houston, Texas, for the opening day of action in the Rice Bayou Classic.
