SFA Dedicates the Wall of Champions

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Current and former Stephen F. Austin track and field and cross country champions gathered at the athletic field house for the dedication of the SFA Track and Field Wall of Champions Friday afternoon.
"It was great having our former champions, and their families on campus," said SFA head coach Phil Olson. "Coach (Sean) Lonergan, and his family, really spearheaded this event. It was great to have Sean's family on campus for the dedication. I felt it was a great way to honor, not only our champions, but James Lonergan as well."
The wall includes plaques honoring each of school's all-time individual champions, along with the school's All-Americans and Academic All-Americans. Included on the wall are the school's cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field record holders.
"I've always felt that there has been a common thread between SFA and our family," said Sean Lonergan. "We felt that this was a great way to honor the great SFA teams of the past and present."
