NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin baseball coach Johnny Cardenas has announced the postponement of the beginning of its weekend series at Northwestern State due to inclement weather in the Natchitoches, La., area. The series was originally slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, but will now begin at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
That game will be the only game on Saturday with a doubleheader now scheduled to begin at noon on Sunday to round out the series.
This is not the first time that SFA and Northwestern State have had to deal with inclement weather in their SLC series as last year's series was actually cut short due to a rainstorm that blew threw the Nacogdoches area on the final day of the 2008 series.
The `Jacks (3-10, 0-3 SLC) are trying to stop a six-game losing streak, including its last three losses coming in extra innings. Northwestern State (8-5, 2-1 SLC) is coming off a series win against McNeese State last week and has won seven of 10 games since falling to SFA on Feb. 22 at the Warhawk Classic.
