
SFA Honors Women's Track and Field Team

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Athletics Department celebrated the Ladyjacks 2009 Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field title Thursday afternoon in the Champions' Room of the SFA Athletic Fieldhouse. It is the fourth women's track and field title under head coach Phil Olson, and the 12th overall conference title of his career.
The Ladyjacks scored 158 points at the meet, outdistancing the rest of the competition by more than 44 points. Olson was named SLC Indoor Women's Coach of the Year, while junior Frednisha Marshall defending her title as the SLC Indoor Outstanding Field Athlete.
SFA was also honored with the league's top-two freshmen. First-year distance runner Stephanie Ganter was the women's freshman of the year after a dominating performance in the distance events, while classmate Nick McCloud put up big points for the 'Jacks in the sprints and hurdles.
