NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin senior Megan Cash was named Friday to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI team. Cash is the lone Ladyjack to make the team and one of seven Southland Conference athletes to make the list.
Cash earned a nod on the second-team list in her first appearance on the all-district team. The Austin, Texas, native is a communication studies major with a 3.91 GPA. This year's honor is her second academic award since transferring to SFA for the 2007 season. Cash was also named to the Second-Team Academic All-SLC squad last season.
The senior is tied for the team lead with seven goals this season and ranks second on the squad with 17 points. Both figures are career-highs for Cash.
The Ladyjacks are coming off a 3-2 win over Northwestern State Friday night that kept them in the hunt for a No. 2 seed at next weekend's Southland Conference Tournament. SFA will wrap up the regular season at home Sunday with a 1 p.m. game against Central Arkansas. Cash, along with classmates Brenna Crockett and Kelli Wilson, will be honored in a Senior Day ceremony following the game.
