FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin's Brenna Crockett was named the Southland Conference Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday, according to an announcement from league officials. Crockett's honor is the first of the year for SFA and comes on the heels of the Ladyjacks' best offensive game of the season.
SFA defeated Prairie View A&M, 10-2, Sunday, setting a new team record for goals in a single game and tying an existing record for margin of victory. Along the way, Crockett put her name in the SFA record books. She posted her first career multi-goal game and first career hat trick, scoring three goals and assisting on a fourth.
Crockett's seven total points tied for third place on the SFA single-game list. She came into the contest with just two career goals before posting the 10th hat trick in program history.
The Ladyjacks (3-5-0) will open defense of their Southland Conference championship this weekend when they begin league play with a road trip to South Louisiana. SFA will take on Southeastern Louisiana Friday in a 4:30 p.m. contest, then square off with Nicholls Sunday at 1 p.m.
