Mahipala Named to Academic All-District Team

Less than 24 hours after being named to the Academic All-Southland Conference team, junior distance runner Keith Mahipala has been named to the 2008 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District team.
Student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 grade-point average, reached sophomore academic standing and be a starter or significant reserve to be nominated. Mahipala has recorded a 3.624 gpa, as well as being one of the 'Jacks' strongest distance runners in 2008.
After posting top-five performances during the indoor season in the 3,000 and 5,000 meters, Mahipala returned to the track and earned all-conference honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. He also closed out the season by competing at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships in the event.
