
Twenty-Six Athletes Earn Four-Year Letterwinner Award

NACOGDOCHES - Twenty-six Stephen F. Austin athletes, trainers and managers were four-year letterwinners announced school officials Wednesday afternoon. The SFA cross country and track and field teams led the way with eight athletes and a manager receiving the award.
Among the list of honorees was the most successful volleyball class in school history. The trio of Jami Hill, JJ Jones and Traci Rohde combined for 112-21 (.842) overall record, won four Southland Conference titles, and one SLC Tournament championship. The Ladyjacks advanced to the 2006 NCAA Championships, where they recorded their first-ever NCAA tournament victory defeating No. 2-seed Alabama, 3-2.
The Lumberjack football team placed seven players on the list, while soccer, softball, men's basketball and women's basketball each placed one individual on the list. The list also included three athletic trainers.
