HOUSTON, Texas - Senior Kristina Windham cleared a height of 12-1.50 to finish fourth in the women's pole vault Friday afternoon in the opening round of the Tom Tellez Invitational. The two-day meet is being hosted by the University of Houston.
Ladyjack thrower Frednisha Marshall continued her strong sophomore campaign by recording a throw of 43-1.00 to finish third in the women's shot put. Classmate Chris Jones also posted a strong mark in the men's shot put. Jones finished fifth overall with a throw of 50-0.00. Classmate Martin Agoes finished seventh overall in the event with a throw of 47-11.00.
Freshman Adam Wolfe rounded out the first day of competition for SFA in the men's javelin. Wolfe recorded a throw of 161-11 to finish eighth overall.
SFA returns to action Saturday for the second, and final day of competition at the Tom Tellez Invitational. The meet will get started with the women's hammer throw at 9 a.m. The track events will begin at 11 a.m. with the finals of the women's 5,000-meter run.
