
Track & Field Athletes Earn SLC Honors

FRISCO, Texas - Senior Zach Ross, and sophomore Silent-Joye Egboba-Waye were named Southland Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week league officials announced Monday afternoon. It marks the fifth and sixth time this season that an SFA athlete has received the honors.
Ross recorded two NCAA regional marks in the hurdles finishing second in the 110-meter hurdles, and the 400-meter hurdles. He posted a time of 13.96 to edge out teammate Aaron Harlan in the 110-hurdles, and returned to the track to clock a 52.25 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Egboba-Waye also set an NCAA regional mark in the hurdles at the John McConnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. Egboba-Waye recorded a time of 13.79 in the event to erase a 10-year-old school record.
The SFA men and women were dominant at the John McConnell Invitational over the weekend. As a team, SFA posted five NCAA regional qualifying marks, and set one school record.
