
SFA Opens Texas Relays With Multi Events

AUSTIN, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field team opened the first day of competition at the Texas Relays with the heptathlon and decathlon Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore Aaron Harlan is currently ninth, among a field of 19 athletes, after scoring 3,786 points on the opening day of the decathlon. Sophomore Tabitha Riley is 16th overall with a score of 2,861 points in the heptathlon.
Harlan recorded solid performances in the high jump and shot put to score some big points. He finished fifth in the shot put with a toss of 44-8.75, and was sixth in the high jump (6-4.00).
Riley and Harlan return to action to close out the multi events Thursday morning. Harlan gets under way at 11 a.m. with the 110-meter hurdles. Riley will step on the track and 2:15 p.m. for the running of the 800 meters.
