Jones Wins Rice Multi Event

HOUSTON, Texas - Sophomore decathlete Chris Jones scored 6,435 points to win the individual title at the Rice Multis competition earlier this week. Jones beat out a field that consisted of nine competitors representing schools such as Connecticut, Harvard and Rice. Jones recorded strong outings in the shot put and discus to record the title. He finished the competition with a throw of 49-3.00 in the shot put, and 129-0 in the discus.
Freshman Ebbonye Johnson also traveled to Houston to compete in the heptathlon. She recorded a score 4,193 points to finish second overall. She performed well in the long jump and javelin. She recorded a mark of 18-0.00 in the long jump, and recorded a throw of 90-9.00 in the javelin.
