TULSA, Okla. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team played Tulsa to a 1-1 tie Friday afternoon. The double-overtime knot moves SFA's season record to 1-2-1.
Tulsa opened the scoring with a goal in the 21st minute, but the Ladyjacks didn't trail for long. Junior Amanda Alders scored her first goal of the season in the 32nd minute, when she blasted a shot inside the far post from 15 yards to the 'keeper's left.
SFA recorded six more shots on goal in the game, but couldn't find the net, as both defenses tightened down for the remainder of the contest. Alders took six shots for the game, with three on goal. For the contest, the Ladyjacks outshot Tulsa, 13-11, and held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
After allowing the initial goal that was headed in off a free kick, SFA goalkeeper Crystin Pactor posted four saves to keep the score tied. She played all 110 minutes of the game.
The Ladyjacks will return to action Sunday, when they take on Oral Roberts in a 2 p.m. contest in Tulsa.
