SHREVEPORT, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team opened its exhibition schedule Friday by playing Centenary to a scoreless tie. SFA outshot the Ladies by a slim margin, but it was the Ladyjack defense that sparkled in the scrimmage.
SFA held Centenary to only eight shots with just two shots on goal. Both shots on goal came in the first half against sophomore goalkeeper Crystin Pactor, who finished with two saves in 45 minutes of action. Freshman Courtney Bauder played in net the second half but had little to worry about, as the Ladyjack defense allowed only two shots, neither of which were on target.
Freshmen Kesia Broome and Sarah Gregory recorded two of SFA's three shots on goal, with sophomore Erika Palmacci posting the other.
The Ladyjacks will return to action for their final exhibition game of the season Wednesday when they host TCU in a 7 p.m. match.
