NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The site and opponent shifted, but the result stayed the same for the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team Wednesday night. SFA played Texas Christian to a scoreless tie in the second and final exhibition game of the year for the Ladyjacks. Wednesday's blank scoresheet came on the heels of a 0-0 tie at Centenary last Friday in SFA's exhibition opener.
The two teams combined for just four shots in the opening half, but the offensive game opened up significantly after halftime. TCU sent 13 shots toward the Ladyjack net in the second half, while SFA posted five shots -- two on goal -- after the break.
Sophomore goalkeeper Crystin Pactor finished with three saves in 69 minutes of work. Freshman Courtney Bauder came on to relieve Pactor for the second straight game, but didn't face a shot on goal in her 20 minutes of action.
Freshman Brittney Barker and junior Amanda Alders each posted two shots for the Ladyjacks. Barker put one on target while both of Alders' shots were on goal.
The Ladyjacks wrap up their exhibition season with an 0-0-2 record. SFA will begin the season in earnest next weekend with a pair of home matches. The Ladyjacks take on St. Edward's on Friday, August 31, in a 7 p.m. game, and follow that date up with a Sunday match against Creighton. That game is set for an 11 a.m. start.
