INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Stephen F. Austin track and field athlete Ryder Peacock has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship announced NCAA officials Tuesday afternoon. Peacock is one of only 29 male athletes at the NCAA Division I, II or III levels to receive the honor. He is also the lone Southland Conference athlete to be awarded a scholarship.
Peacock was a senior high jumper on the Lumberjack track and field team this past season. He was a three-time All-SLC athlete who won the 2006 conference outdoor high jump title, and finished second in the league during the 2007 outdoor season. Peacock closed out his career by advancing to the 2007 NCAA Midwest Regional Championships.
