NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack cross country team was among 145 teams named Thursday to the NCAA Division I All-Academic Women's Cross Country team honors list. This marks the third consecutive year for the SFA women's squad to earn the academic honor. The list is compiled by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association and consists of all cross country teams that competed in a regional meet and posted a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or better in the fall semester.
As a team, the Ladyjacks put together a 3.036 GPA last fall. SFA placed three runners inside the Top 50 to finish ninth at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships in Waco, last November. Two weeks earlier, the Ladyjacks had finished second at the Southland Conference Championships.
Members of this year's women's cross country team were seniors Kimbri Lettkeman, LaKoa McKeever and Ashley Monteau; juniors Amber Bagwell, Katrina Nicholas and Kirsten Wieseman; sophomores Heather Adams, Elese Dawson and Breeka Johnson; and freshmen Nicole Adams, Chelsea Bradford, Megan Jenkins, Amy Shackelford, Megan Williams and Mandy Willis.
