Ladyjack Thrower Honored by SLC

FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin senior thrower Markeisha Edwards was named Southland Conference Track and Field Female Athlete of the Week announced league officials Tuesday afternoon. It is the first weekly honor for the SFA track and field team this season.
Edwards won the women's weight throw and set a new school record in the event with a mark of 57-7.50 at the LSU Bayou Bengal Invitational. It marked the second consecutive week that Edwards recorded a school record in the event. Edwards also recorded a throw of 44-3.25 to finish sixth in the shot put.
The SFA track and field team returns to action Friday when travels to Houston, Texas for the Houston Indoor Classic. The meet is a two-day event that will run through Saturday.
