NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team held a free skills clinic for area youth soccer players last Thursday. The clinic drew more than 100 youth players to Hoya Soccer Complex to meet the Ladyjacks and refine their soccer skills.
The Ladyjacks directed several different stations designed to help participants gain new skills and challenge their agility and technique with the ball. Parents and recreational coaches were on hand to observe the teaching methods displayed by the SFA squad.
The Ladyjacks will continue their commitment to the area's youth Thursday by putting on a second clinic. The session will again be held at Hoya Soccer Complex and is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Along with new and challenging drills, signed posters will be given away to participants.
SFA (4-3-1) will continue its season Friday night when the Ladyjacks open Southland Conference play with a home game against Sam Houston State. That contest is set for a 7 p.m. start at the SFA Soccer Complex.
